Magus Update
On Sunday, we RPed my friend’s Pathfinder campaign and I actually got to play my Magus. He’s a level 5, vanilla Magus, and he’s a total baller. I rarely use the word “baller” so you know he’s doing well.
The party, just fyi, consists of a Half-Elf Druid, Half-Elf Ranger, Human Rogue, and my Elf Magus.
First, we had to go stop a mysterious force raiding a caravan in a desert to the west. During the first night out, we were attacked by dinosaurs, 3 giant velociraptors to be precise. My Magus killed two of them. One was a critical hit Shocking Grasp Spellstrike that one-shotted it. The other was Sneak Attacked a couple times by the Rogue, then polished off with another Shocking Grasp Spellstrike and an AoO.
Next, we had some Magma Elementals, which went down quickly. More Shocking Grasp Spellstrike action.
Then, we met an Efreeti that was raiding the caravans with his elemental traps and we bargained and discussed things with him, learning a great Red Dragon has him as a thrall to collect money because the dragon’s greedy. In investigating the dragon’s lair, we found a young Red Dragon, killed it after some debate over whether or not having a great Red Dragon momma pissed at us. Ultimately, no one really cared and it had a horde of 10,000 GP, so my character ended up taking out most of its hit points, the Ranger critical Called Shot the dragon’s eye, and the Rogue did some slicing too.
After we finished that, we investigated a mysterious portal that linked to he Plane of Earth where the Ranger found a staff that lets him control the clockwork creatures that inhabit a small section of it.
Finally, we were invited to a party at a swanky mansion because of our caravan rescue. We promptly got smashed and we were loud and boisterous. We saw the daughter of the person throwing the party try to spike his drink with something, then I noticed some enchanted servants and guards being mildly evil. The daughter was taken to a back room where she was beaten but the guards. We then, drunkenly, attacked and rescued her. Unfortunately, the rescue also looks like a kidnapping. So, we ran to an abandoned warehouse, where we hope to ask the daughter what’s going on once she’s recovered. That’ll be the next session on this campaign.
My Magus’s updated design includes some dinoskin, Boots of the Elvenkind, and a +1 Mithril Buckler. He’s a bit tanned from the desert and his leathers are a little matted. He now has a nice suit in his Handy Haversck, which is also full of a bunch of random cool stuff.
