Only six behind is pretty good for me.

Day 154: a moment you felt most satisfied in your life

The day I finished college was pretty satisfying at the time.

Day 155: what is one achievement you are proud of

Again, probably college, at least at the time I got the degree.

Day 156: what is a TV show you enjoy the most

Babylon 5 is my favorite show,  I could watch it over-and-over and never get tired of it.  Avatar the Last Airbender/Legend of Korra is like that too.  The Shield was a great show.  Mystery Science Theater 3000, also great, and works as background noise too since there’s like 200 episodes and they’re all 90 minutes long.  And of course, Futurama, never have I laughed so hard as when I watch Futurama.

Day 157: do you like to give or receive

Both!

Day 158: would you give up all of your presents one Christmas time to help others from other countries

Yes.

Day 159: what is one thing you love about photography

Photography?  You mean art for lazy people?  Boom!  Take that photography majors!

jainz:

It might just be me but I always used to think that Bruce Willis was a Vorlon experiment and comprised of the DNA of Michael Garibaldi and Zack Allen.

Ever since I saw the show (and it became my favorite ever) like 15 years ago, I thought Jerry Doyle looked like a stockier Bruce Willis.

Day 104: three words you can’t go a day without using

Fuck.  *agitated sigh*.  Ass.  Actually, most swear words are uttered daily.

Day 105: describe your favorite place in the world

Breasts I can nuzzle between.

Day 106: someone you judged by the first impression

Anyone who uses the phrase “I’m a taxpayer and…”

Day 107: the name of your pet

The family used to have a dog named Misty.  My grandparents had Tracy then Maggie.  I’ve thought about getting a dog named either Moscow (a husky or tamaskan) or Captain John Sheridan (a beagle).

Day 108: is it easier to forgive or forget

Forgiveness is harder, but there are things that can never be forgotten.

Day 109: if you were a super hero, what kind of powers would you have

Telekinesis.  I’d also say telepathy, but if everyone else’s minds are like mine, I don’t really wanna see inside them.  I don’t have a problem with the concept of mind reading, since I could really freak the fuck out of a telepath trying to read my mind.

Everything sounds better when you add "but everything changed when the fire nation attacked" at the end of a sentence.
Harry Potter: Mr. and Mrs. Dursley, of number four, Privet Drive, were proud to say that they were perfectly normal, but everything changed when the fire nation attacked.
The Hunger Games: When I was younger, I scared my mother to death, the things I would blurt out about District 12, but everything changed when the fire nation attacked.
Game of Thrones: The morning had dawned clear and cold, with a crispness that hinted at the end of summer, but everything changed when the fire nation attacked.
Edgar Allan Poe: 'Tis some visitor,' I muttered, `tapping at my chamber door' but everything changed when the fire nation attacked.
The Bible: In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth, but everything changed when the fire nation attacked.
Pride and Prejudice: It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife, but everything changed when the fire nation attacked.
Babylon 5: It was the dawn of the third age of mankind, ten years after the Earth/Minbari war. The Babylon Project was a dream given form. Its goal, to prevent another war by creating a place where humans and aliens could work out their differences peacefully. It's a port of call - home away from home for diplomats, hustlers, entrepreneurs, and wanderers. Humans and aliens wrapped in two million, five hundred thousand tons of spinning metal, all alone in the night. It can be a dangerous place, but it's our last best hope for peace, but everything changed when the fire nation attacked. This is the story of the last of the Babylon stations. The year is 2258. The name of the place is Babylon 5.
Day 37: who are you

What do you want?

Why are you here?

Where are you going?

Day 17: your idol and why you look up to them

This is another one where I don’t really have an answer. I find it hard to idolize people because they’re people and flawed and generally I’ll find out something or something will happen that will make me not idolize them.

There are a few people I can honestly say I look up to or have looked up to them. Michael Turner, the comicbook artist, was one when I was in high school. Blaze Bayley was one a few years ago, but he’s been having troubles with bandmates, and I don’t know if it’s because of him or them. For a fictional character, I like Commander Jeffery Sinclair from Babylon 5, though I hear the actor was kind of a jerk behind the scenes. Neal Stephenson hasn’t done anything weird or bad or questionable, so he’s close to an idol I guess.

If I idolize anyone, it tends to be people who’ve been kicked around by life or higher-ups or corporate jerks and who will continue to do their own thing, regardless of what those people say or do to them.

Day 12: the best advice you’ve ever heard, or ever been given

Since that last one was pretty negative/intense, I’ll immediately follow with this one.

The best advice I’ve ever been given/heard:

Never start a fight, but always finish it.

Captain Sheridan’s words are words to live by. Don’t go looking for trouble but if trouble comes looking for you, make sure you can handle it and stop it. It’s okay to be assertive and to take risks and to have opinions and express them. But, one should never work towards starting a fight or confrontation with another person. It’s always better to let the fight come to you, on your terms, then you can counter it and deal with it in your way.

This, plus the idea of being prepared for as many things as possible, means that adversarial elements and issues in life are manageable. This is actually a lot easier now with the proliferation of the Internet. Gathering information and knowledge before something confrontational or challenging is far easier.

Look— the one and only thing I got myself and Babylon 5 action figure of my favorite character: Delenn!

I refuse to open my Londo figure until I have another Londo figure.

My sealed Vir figure is a marquee piece on my shelves. And by marquee I mean it’s up higher.
